Bend Area Habitat for Humanity
Raising $100,000 for future affordable housing needs.
Palmer Homes has completed its Bend Area Habitat for Humanity Helping Hands benefit house in the company's Gardenside neighborhood in southeast Bend.
Blitz built over a two-week period from May 4-19, 2007, more than 66 suppliers and trade partners contributed over $80,000 in time, labor and materials to the project. As a result, this 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 1,974 sq ft home features additional amenities and numerous upgrades.
The Helping Hands House recently sold to a local buyer. All proceeds generated from the sale - $100,000 - were donated to the Bend Area Habitat for Humanity's Cornerstone Campaign to further their philosophy of offering families: "A hand up, not a hand out."
Constructed on a 4,523 sq ft lot in Gardenside, the completed single-family home fronts Gardenside Park. As with all homes in Gardenside, the home is certified Energy Star, Earth Advantage and Water Wise, placing it among the most energy efficient homes in Bend.

Normally, the floor plan of the Helping Hands House takes 115 days to build from framing to final clean. With the Helping Hands House we asked our subcontractors and staff to step it up a bit and build it in only 14 days! Take note of the subcontractors and vendors below.
